America Makes helping to support Women in 3D Printing

To support the continued development of the additive manufacturing ecosystem, America Makes is offering Engagement Grants to Women in 3D Printing (WI3DP) chapters located within the United States. America Makes aims to foster a balanced community of diverse organizations with pooled resources to ultimately increase U.S. competitiveness in the global manufacturing market. America Makes strongly believes in the promise additive technology offers to accomplish this goal. With over 30,000 members and 107 chapters in 38+ countries, the focus of WI3DP is to increase the visibility of female leaders in the additive manufacturing industry and encourage more newcomers to use 3D printing technologies.

About the Grants

Through the Support Grants, America Makes in collaboration with WI3DP, hopes to increase member engagement, chapter collaboration, and the diversification of individuals in the additive manufacturing industry. We are seeking to better understand how the national strategy of AM can support local ecosystems.

America Makes has donated $10,000 towards Engagement Grants to support live events hosted by multiple Wi3DP Chapters across the U.S. These events should have pre-defined programming based on topics around the AM ecosystem. To ensure a broader selection of chapters receives support, each grant will be capped at a maximum between $500-$1,000. America Makes will cross-promote all events that receive an award.

Note: Each Chapter Ambassador receiving a grant is requested to submit a post-event report summarizing the details of the event, including photos, costs, attendees, takeaways, any relevant feedback, and other pertinent details. This report is due within one week following the scheduled event.
