U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown to Tour and Hold Press Conference at NAMII Headquarters

Youngstown, Ohio. — March 7, 2013. NAMII, the National Additive Manufacturing Innovation Institute, awarded in August 2012, and driven by the National Center for Defense Manufacturing and Machining (NCDMM), is pleased to announce that on Friday, March 8, 2013, U.S. Senator Sherrod C. Brown (D-OH) will tour and hold a press conference at NAMII headquarters at 236 West Boardman Street, Youngstown, Ohio 44503.

“On behalf of all of us at NAMII, Youngstown State University and the Youngstown Business Incubator, I am proud to welcome Senator Brown to NAMII,” said NAMII Director Ed Morris. “As a leading proponent of American manufacturing within Congress, we are grateful to Senator Brown for his ongoing support of and dedication to the manufacturing industry at large, NAMII, and the National Network of Manufacturing Innovation (NNMI).”

During his tour, Senator Brown will meet with NAMII leadership, including NAMII Director Ed Morris and Darrell Wallace, Ph.D., NAMII Acting Deputy Director of Workforce and Educational Outreach, Associate Professor of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at Youngstown State University (YSU), and the Founding Director of YSU’s Advanced Manufacturing Workforce Initiatives (AMWI). Additionally Senator Brown will confer with representatives from key NAMII collaborators YSU and the Youngstown Business Incubator (YBI), including Martin A. Abraham, Ph.D., P.E., Founding Dean, College Of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Professor, Civil/Environmental and Chemical Engineering, YSU; Betty Jo Licata, Ph.D., Dean of Williamson College of Business Administration, YSU and Vice-Chairperson, Board of Directors, YBI; and Barb Ewing, YBI COO.
