Brian Schmidt

Brian joined NCDMM in 2013 as a Project Engineer and has since been promoted to Program Manager and Laboratory Operations Director. As a technical and manufacturing generalist, he supports project management, procurement, and design activities. Additionally, he has been instrumental in furthering the development of manufacturing energy reduction and sustainability expertise within NCDMM.

Brian also provides project management, manufacturing and design expertise, and team leadership experience, in addition to various technical and process experience capabilities to NCDMM.

Prior to joining NCDMM, Brian served in multiple manufacturing roles, encompassing the full breadth of manufacturing spanning from initial design through the installation and service of manufactured products. He also conducted product development and design activities both starting with a clean slate, and the revision of existing designs and products, including design optimization for manufacturing. These numerous capabilities have been obtained through various positions, including Production, Manufacturing, Design and Product Development engineer.

Brian holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh, and a M.B.A. from Seton Hill University.
