America Makes proudly announces the third challenge in the series called Innovation Sprints that is open to both members and non-members.
The goal of the Innovation Sprints is to further research and development in key areas in support of the Institute’s Technology Roadmap and the advancement of the additive manufacturing (AM) and 3D printing (3DP) industry while reaching a broader audience of innovators.
The third in the series of America Makes Innovation Sprints focuses on expanding AM curricula. Over the past twelve months, we have heard from both industry and academic members requesting additional resources and content for workforce and education training for AM. What we learned is that currently quite a bit of content exists, but it lives in many places.
To support and build our membership, America Makes is building a repository for educational content in the area of AM and working with educators and industry professionals who have already developed curricula to submit it for possible inclusion in the resource repository. Content may be targeted toward any educational level including K-12, vocational and technical education, community colleges, universities, and on-the-job training.
Submitters of high-quality curricula chosen for inclusion in the repository will be awarded a one-year Silver-level Membership, worth $15,000. Current America Makes members are eligible for award in the form of equivalent credit toward future membership fees.
This is a Theoretical Challenge that requires course content and a written description to be submitted. The Challenge award will be contingent upon evaluation of the content by the Seeker. If multiple submissions from eligible entities meet all the Solution Requirements, multiple awards will be made at the sole discretion of the Seeker.
To receive an award, the Solvers will not be required to transfer any Intellectual Property (IP) rights to the Seeker. In accordance with the terms of the America Makes membership agreement, the Solvers will grant the America Makes membership access to utilize submitted course content.
Submissions to this Challenge must be received by 11:59 PM (US Eastern Time) on July 23, 2017.
