Green STEM Summit

November 16
All Day

Santa Clarita, CA

The Santa Clarita Environmental Education Consortium (SCEEC) will be hosting its 5th Annual Green STEM Summit at College of the Canyons Valencia campus on Saturday, November 16, 2019. As seen in this flyer, hundreds of high school and community college students will speak with dozens of STEM professionals from industry, government and academia while rotating through engaging and interactive “STEM Cells” to explore career pathways in five areas:

  • Engineering & Technology
  • Natural & Physical Sciences
  • Environmental Art, Ethics & Design
  • Biomimicry & Biotechnology
  • Advanced Manufacturing (MakerSpace)

This career fair will feature STEM professionals stationed at tables with hands-on, interactive displays in an exhibit hall style environment. Mentor tables will be set up to display career and technology posters, diagrams, videos, robotics, models, monitoring equipment, instruments, kits, games, give-aways, etc. There will also be a live raptor demonstration and you can judge the student STEM posters.

The goal is to show students how STEM-related careers can lead to a greener, more sustainable world. We are inviting business, government, UC / CSU campuses and college STEM clubs to participate and provide information on their programs. As with past events, we expect organizations such as Lockheed Martin, 3M, Edison, Raytheon, UCLA, CSUN, government agencies, consulting firms and many others to participate.

As an America Makes member, you can reserve a table (it’s free) by contacting Michael Haro with Lockheed Martin.
