Embark on a comprehensive exploration of advanced manufacturing in our university’s workshop. Led by experienced professors and industry experts, the course focuses on 3D printing, additive manufacturing design, and the digital thread. Participants integrate theoretical knowledge into practical skills, applying the university’s curriculum to real-world scenarios. The workshop includes hands-on exercises and collaborative projects to enhance understanding of additive manufacturing technologies. Enriched by case studies from the medical, advanced design/simulation, and aerospace sectors, the workshop offers a balanced blend of theory and application in the field of advanced manufacturing.

Workshop Objectives

  • Build competence in the 3D Printing industry with an understanding of the key manufacturing technology.
  • Create a network of 3D Printing industry professionals in the Colorado area.
  • Demonstrate proficiency the software thread involved with 3D Printing.
  • Recognize the variety of technologies within the 3D Printing and manufacturing industry
  • Understand the potential pathways to collaborate with CU Denver resources.

How will it work?

This course will take place over a single day in the summer of 2024. The workshop will include live demonstrations, expert talks, and tours across the advanced manufacturing labs at the CU Denver campus.

Who should sign up?

The target attendance is 25-30 people. The target attendees are early adopters and/or 3D printing champions at industrial end-users looking to get into AM. They might have a rudimentary knowledge of AM but are looking to expand their knowledge base.
