Authentise enables automated serialization – Prototech partnership

March 21, 2018 | Categories: Industry News, Member News

Recently, Authentise partnered with software development company Prototech to offer a solution to counterfeiting and part tracking by serializing 3D printed parts, automatically and reliably, through our Watermarking module.

The module enables serial numbers, barcodes or other identifiers to be embedded at any point in the geometry – on the part, in the support structures, on an attached tag, and even below the surface so that it can only be detected by X-ray or similar technologies. The benefits of this feature are many: it enables more efficient and reliable tracking and sorting of parts within factories. It also has the potential to significantly speed up the supply chain and reduce the number of counterfeit parts in circulation.

Serial numbers and other watermarks can help your operations in a number of ways. Fraud and counterfeiting are real issues in the manufacturing industry. Sorting parts after production is time intensive. At Authentise we offer a solution to this issue by serializing 3D printed parts, automatically and reliably.

Through a partnership with Prototech, a niche software development company in the CAD/CAM/CAE, we offer a module called Watermarking.

“As all modules on the 3Diax platform do, watermarking works ‘under-the-hood’”, says Andre Wegner, CEO of Authentise. “This means the actions happen automatically, without the need for manual operator interactions, which saves our clients time and enables them to scale. The modular structure of the platform and the API access also enables us to integrate this module with others, or directly into corporate IT systems. We’re delighted to work with CAD software professionals such as ProtoTech to extend the platform.”
