MMX 2022 Diamond Sponsor 2

This year’s MMX week will kick-off on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, with a local Additive Manufacturing Community Day. We are working with local members in the Youngstown region to open their doors, and we will be hosting an Open House to allow all guests and visitors to explore the newly renovated facility, including the Front Door to Additive. Directly following the Open House, we will kick off MMX with a 10 Year Celebration at America Makes.

Tours will start on the top of hour 1300, and will conclude at 1700.

If you are interested in attending a tour, please contact Rhonda.capan@ncdmm.org with your name, company, contact number and what tours you would like to attend.

America Makes – 236 W Boardman St, Youngstown, OH 44503

The America Makes facility is a space to connect visitors to the innovative possibilities of additive manufacturing (AM) known as the Front Door to Additive. It is both a place for the community to learn about America Makes and additive manufacturing, and for the industry to gather to share information, participate in workshops, or attend events.

Fitz Frames – TBB5, across the lot from America Makes

Fitz Frames uses SLS 3D printers to manufacture corrective eyewear frames that are custom fit to each customer. Individual facial measurements are gathered in our app during purchase to create a fit for you and no one else. Each frame is designed for each person’s unique and awesome face, from the width of their nose to the angles of their ears. Additive manufacturing allows us to provide the best fitting glasses for children and has now also been tailored for adults. We proudly design and manufacture our glasses in the USA. Each pair is built at our facility in Youngstown, Ohio.

Tailored Alloys – TBB5, across the lot from America Makes

Tailord Alloys was founded to produce ultra-high-performance alloys that could be scaled with additive manufacturing. Unfortunately, we quickly learned new higher performance alloys had no value (yet) due to the inability to provide material properties beyond a single make/model/SN.  We are now developing new alloys alongside the hardware/software required to implement our optimized processing conditions to guarantee properties across Laser Powder Bed Fusion machines.

After several years of work, Tailored Alloys has reached the starting line by establishing our main operation at YBI in Youngstown, OH.  We now have alloy development and evaluation capabilities alongside a software team focused on implementing our vision to develop ultrahigh temperature refractory alloys for hypersonic vehicles.  Drawing a diverse team from across the country, Tailored Alloys is positioned to expand in Ohio, and contribute to a new era of American Made high-performance metals.
